Time Dilemma

The clock is ticking too fast..

Time flies and moves rapidly..

But.. Can I go with this flow very swift?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The semestral break finally ended and the outset of the third grading has already started. As expected, we'll continue our topic on Hypertext Mark-up Language. Our hands-on activities, this time, were on colors and pictures.

ACTIVITY 6: This was all about putting background colors on an HTML file - it was a mind-blowing activity. I am always fond of blending colors so I knew that I would be too skeptic and delicate in choosing what color am I going to use. If it was only possible to use two or more colors as background or a gradient, I might do it. But I think it was nonviable so I just used pink instead of red, orange and yellow gradient colors.

ACTIVITY 7: I was not able to finish this activity - putting background picture on an HTML file. Like before, it was time again which is my problem. My classmates were almost done on this, but me, I have done nothing yet. I already have a plan on what picture I will use but it's only time which doesn't cooperate. If I'm free off official businesses, the computer room isn't available. But when it's free to use, I'm doing something somewhere around the school.

When will time give me an opportunity to finish all my requirements in ICT-IV? It's as if time's the villain in my studies, he doesn't allow me to do this html activities. But I'm sure that I'll find time to accomplish my works. I just have to go with the flight of time to easily cope up with this dilemma in ICT-IV.

Contest Instead Of Rest

Different: My semestral break this year was different from the others. 'Twas the only time that I got very busy and concentrated much in my reviews for the Regional STEP Skills Development and Competition; and also, a time to meet a "new friend".

My Last Year in STEP (probably in Mangaldan - October 28-30): I enjoyed this, really. Although we weren't able to bring home all the awards, I'm still glad for this experience I had. New skills competitions were added this year, like the Fertilizer Computation. I was chosen to be the representative of Vigan City Division on this. Since it was new, we had to prepare for it that's why I attended an intensive review at the Provincial Agriculture Office before going to Mangaldan. We also reviewed for the Techno Quiz. Without being boastful, I can say that our tandem was great, and we might have a chance to win in the region. However.. I was very very very disappointed for I wasn't able to participate in the quiz show. There was a conflict in the schedule of two event skills. 'Twas done simultaneously. But I feel contented, a bit only.

Calculator: At least, I met a new friend.. in an extraordinary way.. very unusual. He’s from Urdaneta City and was actually my opponent in the competition. We met because of a calculator! He was absented-minded like me. Maybe he hadn't also read the guidelines about the required calculator - a nonscientific calculator. He and I only noticed that we brought the wrong one when the competition was about to start. And in coincidence, I had two. He borrowed the other one. After the contest and before we parted ways, he thanked me and we talked about where we're planning to study in college. His coach was too “makulit” unlike him who’s so “silent”.

He’s GEORGE.

The Senior's Travail

Finally... We have passed the most difficult part in high school, our junior life. We are now facing our last year in the secondary education. They say that this year, it would be easier but I expected that there would be lots of pressure.

Co-Curricular Affairs

On the start of the classes there is a need for leadership and teamwork to finish all our group works, for instance, the DPSA -Community Based Research. We really sacrificed some of our classes and we even went home late just to finish this research. we also need to come on Saturdays for our CAT - our last trainings and the COLT Admission Test, and for our MTAP Classes. Aside from these, we also have other extra co-curricular activities which are connected to the monthly celebrations of ISNHS - contests and seminars.

As the school year goes on, our lessons become more difficult and challenging as well as our ECA's. Because of these ECA's, my schedule became hectic. There were lots of things that were assigned to me. The bitter part of it is that they were given to me at the same time, so I don't know what to do first. I was confused on how to use my time wisely. There were oodles of sleepless nights on which I had to rush all these things (Burning the midnight oil!!!) because I am hopeful to reap all the fruits of my hardships. I have lots of official businesses at school - CAT matters, ECA's, school paper, science club and more; and I don't know what to accomplish first.

On these activities, I needed to prove that I really deserve what they've given to me. I have proven some but I wanted to test my capabilities again. I want to improve my skills! I want to surpass my failures! I want to defend what I have reaped before! These all happened during the Nutrition Month Celebration in Vigan where I got 1st place in the Mural Painting Contest. This was my second time to join in such contests and I had a title to defend, so, I really did my very best.

Technical Problems

I am a very busy student. I have a hectic schedule most especially before the periodical test. I have to attend different extra co-curricular activities outside the school, I'll miss our lessons in TLE - ICT IV and our activities.

I need to cope up fast to finish all our hands-on activities but sometimes the internet connection in our workstations doesn't work well and there was a time that we needed to transfer to another workstation because they're repairing our computer. As a result, I wasn't able to finish these and I was also confused with the programs which we are using.

New learnings in ICT

My life in high school doesn't only revolve around numbers but also on computers.

"I love TLE - ICT as I love Math. "

I like everything about computers that's why I'm always ready to learn more about this matter.
This 4th year, all our topics would be about the Internet, International Networks. We tackled the History of Internet, and how was it improved and developed each year - its timeline. Internet known as interconnected computer networks, have different uses, it maybe positive or negative. Mining the Net was also our lesson discussing how to use the search engines and terms. As we go on with our topic, I've learned about this "blog"and its advantages for a student like me.
Learnings on the outside..
FOOD FESTIVAL: Business? I am not really interested on any money matters but because it's a group contest, I was assigned as the over-all chairman, together with Agustin. 4th years are over-all winners in the food fest for several consecutive years. What I challenge! But since we had a good teamwork and very clever minds, we won. We really thought of something that the buyers would surely like - our miki and shake. We planned our tactics so that all our products would be sold out. Marconi's the top grosser for this competition.
